 JAPANESE GRAMMAR RESOURCES

Okay, so I decided to make a separate entry for grammar resources, since there really are quite a few and I believe they need their own little corner.

Mostly it will be links redirecting you to other sites, google drives etc; So let's go!

Textbooks:

Now, really this depends on the level. But in my experience, up till N3, Genki is the way to go and for N2-N1 then Tobira. I'm still discovering Tobira though.  Honestly, textbooks also need their own separate entry, so I will probably end up doing another post on them alone at a later time.

Also, before reaching your hand and wallet our for Genki textbooks, have a warm up with Tae Kim's guide!  His book is available in PDF for free too, and in app format for mobile as well.

Speaking of Genki, have you checked their super useful Verb/Adjective Conjugator?

Other conjugators:  The Ultra Handy Japanese Conjugator  and this guy here. The latter I came across it by mere chance while browse-shopping on bookdepository. It's super handy, it's laminated and you can keep it by your side whenever you're doing your verb drills etc. It's relatively cheap, but hmmm yes if you have a printer at home I can send it to you in pdf format I guess.

some sites:

MAGGIE SENSEI

I cannot even begin to talk about how great her site is, and how comprehensive her lessons. Plus, cute pets . Follow her on Twitter too, she does those cute quizzes and tweets nice little learning titbits.

IMABI

今日

iMABI is super useful as well. Everything is pretty orderly put and categorized by levels. The nicest thing about it that the author is practically writing all these up from combinations of various grammar books they have. They have been running it since 2009 I think and have more than 300 lessons. Truly, a grammar paradise.

NIHONGO NO MORI

日本語の森

NIHONGO NO MORI is a Youtube channel. It's recommended for learners who are level N3 and above. Do keep it though, as it's super helpful too, and even though it's all in japanese, the explanations by the teachers are so easy to understand, that they make the most difficult sentences seem like a piece of cake.

BUNPRO

Bunpro launched around 2 years ago, and it's site that uses a similar SRS algorithm system much like Wankikani's. It was firstly introduced to the WK community after all, and was in Beta stage for a year or so. While on beta it was free, but after that, it requires you get a subscription. To be honest, it's one of the best complementary tools for grammar. I used it a lot for cramming before JLPT. It has many example sentences to help you understand the grammar points, although it doesn't have the extensive explanations your books or Maggie or Imabi have. This is why it should be considered as a complementary tool in my opinion.

These are all for now, but  will keep updating with other useful lists as well!
